Recently I have had the opportunity to sit in on some court hearings ... each time I see how faulty the world's court system is and over and over again I rejoice that I serve a God who does not judge according to man's standards. I serve a God who is perfectly just and perfectly true in every aspect of life.
Psalm 9 talks about this "side" of God:
- When my enemies turn back, they stumble and perish before your presence. For you have maintained my just cause; you have sat on the throne, giving righteous judgment. (Psa 9:3-4)
- But the LORD sits enthroned forever; he has established his throne for justice, and he judges the world with righteousness; he judges the peoples with uprightness. The LORD is a stronghold for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. And those who know your name put their trust in you, for you, O LORD, have not forsaken those who seek you. Sing praises to the LORD, who sits enthroned in Zion! Tell among the peoples his deeds! For he who avenges blood is mindful of them; he does not forget the cry of the afflicted. (Psa 9:7-12)
I will give thanks to the LORD with my whole heart; I will recount all of your wonderful deeds. I will be glad and exult in you; I will sing praise to your name, O Most High. (Psa 9:1-2)
God is on the side of the oppressed ... they are not alone! God will fight for them - when they call on Him, when they put their trust in Him.
But what if they don't know? It's you and my responsibility to tell them ... this is my personal challenge! When they feel alone and like no one is there for them, God IS!! But, He give us the responsibility to tell them ...
